This is the new Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. Today the Democrats took control of Congress. I guess to show how caring and sensitive they are, they staged a photo-op with dozens of children around her. Because CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!UPDATE!! I was not aware that it is a custom for lawmakers to bring their children to the first session of The House. These are apparently Nancy Pelosi's grandchildren. My cynical portion (about 98%) simply assumed it was a statement of some sort. My mistake.
