College basketball action

Here's a rundown of a few games and what I think will happen today.

Clemson at Boston College: Someone needs a win to stop the bleeding. Boston College has lost three straight. Clemson has also lost three straight and is 2-8 since their 17-0 start. Of course Boston College didn't lose to Wake Forest. Yeesh! BC has lost their last two home games but I think the third time will be the charm. BC wins.

Indiana at Michigan State: The Hoosiers beat Michigan State by 22 last time they played. But the Spartans were just recovering from injuries. Revenge time for the MSU.

Pittsburgh at Georgetown: Big East Showdown! This game is for the lead in the conference. I'm really bullish on the Hoyas' national title chances so I'll go with Georgetown at home.

Wichita State at Creighton: Missouri Valley Madness! Creighton has played themselves onto the bubble with three losses in the last four. Wichita State hasn't had their mojo in awhile. I think this is the perfect tonic for Creighton to right the ship.

Stanford at UCLA: Stanford has had a good season and actually beat UCLA earlier this year. The Bruins won't let that happen again. UCLA wins easily.

Iowa State at Kansas: The Jayhawks keep rolling

Baylor at Texas A&M: Ditto

LSU at Florida: LSU has the talent. Of course they've lost 9 of their last 10. And I think Glen Davis is injured. Hmmm. Let's go with the Gators.

Georgia Tech at Virginia: The Yellow Jackets are better than their record. They will send the Cavs to their second straight loss.

And a few guesses for tomorrow's games...

Maryland at North Carolina: The Terps have been on a roll winning four straight by an average of more than 15 a game. If they beat UNC, it will be significantly less. They're perfectly capable of keeping up with UNC and pulling off the mild upset. But I think UNC's talent overwhelms Maryland in the end.

Wisconsin at Ohio State: The #1 vs #2 matchup lost a little luster when Wisconsin lost to Michigan State. But this is still an important game as it's looking likely that there will be a #1 seed from the Big Ten but probably not two. If Wisconsin wins that might permanently shut the Buckeyes down to the #2 seed level. Wisconsin's loss to Michigan State will have them motivated to not lose two in a row. But I still think the Buckeyes have the advantage. They lost to Wisconsin already so there's the revenge factor. It's at home for OSU. And I think OSU is a better team (albeit barely) than the Badgers. Should be a good one but I think OSU clinches the #1 seed for the Big Ten Tournament with a win tomorrow.
