NC State fans are stupid

There was a discussion yesterday on Fark that shows how loony Wolfpack basketball fans are. In case you didn't know, after years of criticism, the coach of NC State, Herb Sendek, left to take a job at Arizona State. He was lambasted day in and day out even though he had brought NC State to five straight NCAA Tournaments and averaged more than 19 wins a year for NC State. The basis for the disdain? He couldn't beat Carolina or Duke. My question is....WHO NORMALLY BEATS CAROLINA OR DUKE??? THEY ARE TWO OF THE PREMIER PROGRAMS IN THE COUNTRY!!! Nevertheless, NC State fans want to go back to the glory days of the program which were....uh...sometime. Anyway Herb left to go to Arizona State. The Sun Devils are struggling, to put it mildly. In fact, they have 15 straight and stand a reasonable chance of going winless in the Pac-10. NC State fans were having a field day with this. I mean obviously NC State is tearing the ACC apart after getting rid of Sendek the loser. They're 3-8 and clearly one of the three worst teams in the ACC. But they beat Carolina so it's ok! If I were a State alum, being placed in the same group as some of these idiot fans, I would be ashamed. Just my opinion.

I was looking forward to seeing Appalachian State play Wichita State on national TV tomorrow. But it's on ESPNU. I don't get ESPNU!. Damn! Is an important game though. App must win to have a reasonable chance to get into March Madness if they don't win the Southern Conference Tournament. And that will be hard as I think Davidson is the best team in the conference.App beat them once, but that's Davidson's only conference loss. And App keeps losing to crappy teams so they need to get all the wins they can get.

Watch out for Georgetown. They've won 8 straight and clearly look a national title contender.

Ditto for Memphis who has won14 straight and probably won't lose again until the NCAA Tournament. They might be better than last year's team that got a #1 seed.

Spoke too soon on Lenox. It's up 9% today. No news except for some group boosting their stake to 8% in the company. Good news that I'm not the only one who saw value in the shares.

I haven't had any updates on Anna Nicole Smith...

...and I don't plan to.
