More notes on college basketball

According to Ken Pomeroy's log5 method (which is what I partially base my predictions on), William & Mary has a 0.3% chance of winning the Colonial Tournament. Yikes! My pick to win it, Old Dominion, has a 45% chance to win with conference leading VCU at 27.2%. Here's to the 0.3% in life.

Appalachian is up to the 8th team out in Joe Lunari's bracket projections on ESPN. Moving up but they've still got some work to do.

Also to show how difficult the Colonial League is at the top, Lunardi has three Colonial teams in the bracket this week. Granted none is above an #11 seed but that's pretty solid for a mid-major conference to have three teams among the top 48 or so in the country.

Some good games tonight. Maryland at Duke. Texas A&M at Texas. Villanova at Connecticut. I like Duke and Connecticut at home. Texas absolutely can "upset" Texas A&M with Durant playing for the crowd at home. But you know I love the Aggies this year. So I'm going with A&M.

Florida is down to #6th on the ranking scale for seeds now. They can still get a #1 seed, but I think they might have to win the SEC Tourney to do it and hope teams like UNC and Kansas lose as well.
